Back in 1985 , while living in Shelby, Montana I decided I wanted to purchase a good Sharps rifle and of course where else but Big Timber. Made a weekend trip of it with family and drove to the Shiloh Shop. Walked i nand looked around while another customer was being watied on. After that person left I was next and was asked what did Ihave an interest in? being I was hunting Mountain area here in Montana and a off horse back I felt the Saddle Rifle in 45/70 would be the best choice. The Sales lady said just a second and she came back with just that rifle! Seems the person in front of me had ordered the same style rifle but refused this one (lookded pretty dang good to me!) Well I was to be the proud owner of a 45/70 Sharps Saddle rifle for ( you ready) less then $600!!! Oh yeah !!!
This rifle has been all over the bear trap and Cowboy heaven. Had some shots on Elk up there but never connected. But back up on the open range near shelby while hunting Antelope It served up and dropped a nice buck at about 75 yards on the run !!! There sint anything better then a Shiloh Sharps!!
