I shoot 30-40 as 30-40 and so don't reform it into something else. For years, I used old WWII era WRA headstamp brass, but it finally wore out. The last batch of Remington brass I purchased several years ago, (15 or so), started splitting on the first firing. I annealed and have not had any further issues. The Graf brass seems to be better brass than the Remington. Not as brittle. If I ever need more, I'll look for Graf.

I’m happy with it so far. I just wanted to try everything I can. The Remington brass has a little more capacity than the Grafs. Not sure if that’s a good thing or if it even matters. Only if I want more fps I suppose

My rifle I use to 'test' 30-40 Krag brass is a 1898 Krag 'carbine.
It's been a fun rifle to shot 200 grain home cast bullets with anemic loads 5744 and a vita vori powder.
Have a good day!

I want a krag rifle some time. By the time I get one I will have 2000 pieces of 38-50 brass and no 30-40 brass

I just ordered 200 .30-40 Captec brass from Graf for my .38-40 Hepburn and I loaded 15 gr of Unique in 5 cases and filled them to the top with COW and caped them off with bullet lube to blow the necks out.
I did this without annealing them this time and after trimming them long I reloaded the 5 with a load of black and a bullet to finish the forming and trimmed for length. The brass fire formed just as good as the Winchester cases did annealed. I haven't checked the wall thickness at the neck yet but a DD PP bullet patched to groove at the base is a snug fit in the case.
