Does anyone know if gun build is back on schedule I’ve read some other posts here seams like sometimes it takes a lot longer to receive your rifle. Thanks

As far as I know, it is on schedule. Some things will slow your order. Heavy, 14# and larger barrels, engraving, round barrels, 1877. If you order a pretty standard 1874, it goes right on the list in the order received.

Thanks for info never ordered anything special no engraving or super heavy barrel just a long range express upgrade wood and finish octagon barrel pack hardened. Polished barrel pewter end cap the regular things. I was just reading the posts were People went through Bill Goodman. Just wondering. Thanks

Bill has orders already in the pipeline, use him if you are in a hurry and are willing to compromise on some of your wish list to expedite delivery. Otherwise you might as well order direct and be patient.

I like the idea of ordering another one before your first is done just to keep a high level of anticipation.

My Creedmoor model took 3 years, 1 month, 2 weeks, and 4 days.

Only thing out of the norm is the Orville 44-77 paper patch chamber.

So just kind of take what they tell you when you order with a grain of salt.

Yes, when I ordered back in May of 2018 it was supposed to be a 14-18mo wait. Granted, there was a global pandemic thrown in the mix, and I changed my order a few times (not sure if that made a difference in the wait time), but it for sure took a bit longer than anticipated.

That’s what I was told 14 to 18 months.

I placed my order for a Shiloh Quigley in July 2019, with an estimated 15 month wait to start production. Was hoping for a Christmas 2020 present.

Then the Chinese attacked the world and things changed.

Supposedly my Quigley began production in mid-May 2021 and I should have it in August or September.

I think that COVID transitioned into labor difficulty that will eventually transition into changing business models or shuttering a business. I think that operating a business that requires a skilled labor force in a small town with your competition for that labor force a half of a block away greatly compounds the difficulty of operating a small business in a small town - these are challenging times!

Do know ,no rifle will leave Shiloh that’s not better than you expect and are perfect. I have never heard of a Shiloh being returned because they forgot to rifle a barrel, gaps, proud wood or any other maladies that affect other gun makers of the 1874 Sharps.

Whenever I've been given a time from Shiloh, I believe it was just an estimate as to when it would start production. On occasion it'd be longer by a fair bit. Not sure why, but I did find that once I had my first Shiloh I wasn't too worried about the build time because I already had one to use :-). I know that's not quite what you were looking for, but all I can say is that when you get it, it'll be an excellent rifle. None of mine have ever let me down, and they all shoot extremely accurately once I understood how to make the correct ammo and to manage the rifle. That part took me longer than the time to get the rifle.

Chris.

I would love to have a 77 but at 81 yrs IO don't think I would get enough time to make use of it.

When I ordered my rifle the owner told me to order the sights straight from Montana sights and have them shipped to Shiloh does anyone know if they are still wanting people to do that. Thanks

I ordered my 40-90BN from Shiloh in Oct 2018. I also ordered Sights from Montana Vintage Arms for said rifle. They were installed and the rifle was delivered in May 2021. The rifle had gone to the floor in March 2020. My sights were ordered thru MVA and sent to Shiloh via the Shiloh rifle order #. As far as I know from ordering rifles from Shiloh, this system is still in place, and continues to work well.
