45-110 and our new long range shoot.

Hi folks, I am starting a Long Range shoot at our club, www.borderrangers.com , and was wondering if someone would give me a small primer on the 45-110. I will be recieving my new Shiloh this week and want to order up what I need to load it. I have loaded for twenty or so years but never for BPCR. I have however loaded for Black Powder in my CAS guns so I am familiar with the terms. Also, we shoot under SASS Rules so we don't have the NRA weight limit. Just where did that limit come from?
