Ballard Expert, Author, anyone know what's going on?

A friend of mine over in Europe has been in contact in the past with John Dutcher, author of "Ballard", the excellent book chronicling the history of that make.

My friend has recently discovered, from a third party (since verified), that Mr. Dutcher's entire (and extensive) collection of beautiful Ballards is up for auction!

He's tried e-mailing and calling Dutcher with NO success and has asked me if I could find out "what's up"?!!

Does anyone out there in the BPCR community know anything about this?

My friend is speculating sudden ill-health or ???

Funny you should mention this. I received in the mail today a catalog from Rock Valley Auctions, that contain "The John Dutcher Collection".
The Auction will be held on April 17 - 19, 2004. Nice collection......Jim

I just got a message from my friend...

Apparently he finally did get hold of Dutcher and things are o.k.

Only "part" of his collection is up for sale...I guess what's going is pretty nice though...oh well, dream on!
