Goodmorning David, I can't pick finish dates out of the sky for this project, so don't let this hold you up from buying brass. In fact, this is the reason I have not accepted deposit from anyone on this gun, I don't want my head on the chopping block. I can tell you that the preliminary moulds are almost done, and next comes the size adjustment to the tooling. Hope this helps, Thanks Kirk

just wondered how they are in appearance compared to the 1874.

Gentlemen, Lee stated above that the 1878 was not legal for NRA competition, that statement would be true as far as silhoustte shooting goes, but, we can shoot the 1878 in mid range and long range with no problem. I am on the list to have a 45-90 built from Shiloh in the 1878 and I intend to shoot paper with it regularly. YMMW, FWIW, Lee If I am wrong, I apologize. Later, David Barfield

I was refering to NRA Silhouette Competition. My statement was too broad. Sorry. :oops:

I suppose they have their reasons, but I still think it is a shame the '78s are not allowed for Silhouette.
