Wagon box….

Post by Mick214 »

Does anyone here have a “Wagon Box” for their Sharps?

Many years ago I had a Sharps made by IAB. A buddy of mine had an actual Shiloh Sharps (I think it was a Quigley model). He ended up selling that rifle, but he gave me the wooden case. Eventually I also ended up selling that IAB and the case went with it (Now I wish I still had it!).

I am looking for ideas to make a wooden case for my Farmingdale Sharps and also one for my Uberti 1885 High Wall rifles.

The forum woodsmiths are Bryan Youngbird and Richard Wood. Neither give away their time or skill for free. I imagine a pm to either or both would get a response. Bobw

Mick,
I have one and the outside dimensions are 53" X 10-1/2" X3" and it's leather covered and the inside lining is pool table felt.

Kurt,
Just curious.
Have you used that Russ Weber breech seater in shooting that Shiloh?

Arnie,

No I have not used it in that rifle it's a .45.2.6 Axtel and that breach seater is setup for a 40-2.5 Shiloh.
But I have two Russ Weber breach seaters for the other Shiloh calibers I have.
Now that Russ is no longer with us I will make one for the Hepburn and the CPA.
If I make Lodi I will breach seat th bullets. There is plenty of time to get the rounds off.
