Fotou bullet mold

Post by From Along The Trail »

I am curious if anyone has seen one of these molds.

It is a 45 caliber, 550 grain mold. It cast at .462 diameter. I have sized them for a 45-70.

I have only shot a few of them. But not to compared if they can be a accurate bullet.

I have not, but I would bet that it was made by a guy named Steve Fotou who is a talented single shot guy. I met him once at the Tacoma Rifle and Revolver club at an ASSRA match.

I have a few of his moulds from when he was in salt lake city.
He made the PGT moulds for dick trenk.
Sounds like you got one cut for the pedersoli. His shiloh one of them is cut at 4585 with my alloy.
It is supposed to shoot best with the front band 1/2 engraved. And it seemed to in my rifles.
It shot considerable flatter and drifted less than the bullets then around.
It also has a unique venting system that i liked.

Thanks for you input on this subject. I bought the mold last fall, but could not find anything about it.

Then once I found his name, I could find some information about the mold.

Thanks, Vern
