Hey Colt, he seldom if ever knows what he is talking about. He gets really confused when you ask him what he said or what he meant. I don't tease him much about it because I suspect he has been dealing with the problem since birth.

We're here talking mostly of 8# Seth Cole paper, and my 9# 100% cotton paper. I have quite a 'back-up' stock of 9# 100% wood paper, and also 9# 75% wood/25% cotton paper, How have your testings been 'on target paper' using the 9-pound wood paper?
I know I should cut some and give it a try myself but I was just wondering how others like the 9# wood paper. I've tried wrapping it to my money bullet and have found that it wraps very easily, and tucks under the flat base just as nicely as 9# cotton does. BTW, I've wrapped everything dry to this point, never wet.

Robert , the only real difference I have found between the two papers is the 100% cotton is a little more forgiving in a wet barrel.

Btw, fwiw, I buy 100% white cotton ‘bolt’ material at the sewing store, wash/dry it, iron it, then cut 2 5/8” squares for winter shooting, 2 3/4” squares for spring/summer/fall shooting. This bulk cotton material really dries the bore.

And, I wear a thin rubber glove to get a good grip on the delrin wiping rod. The bulk cotton drying patches fit the bore tightly, perfectly. The bore is dry, very dry. I try and think of every step, trying to improve on any weak link.

No, not one bit. Personally speaking, I got sick and tired of hammering a rod/jag with a patch wetted with turpentine down the bores of my rifles to maintain accuracy using greasers. I’ll always stay shooting conventional/period pp bullets.
I respect the many shooters who shoot greasers; I just decided to try pp. I’ve just decided to stay shooting pp.

The top four scoring riflemen for the Ironman Event at the Desert International last week all shot GREASE GROOVE bullets.

The Ironman is seven consecutive days of Black Powder Target Rifle shooting, 500-600-800-900-& 3 days at 1,000 yards.

All four left their keyboards behind, put on their Big Boy Pants, and came to Phoenix with a significant amount of ammunition to expend on paper targets.
