Sissy Pad

Post by JCP »

Well, I'm quite a bit older than I was when I used to shoot my BPCR and the recoil is a little harder on my old bones than it used to be.
This week my son bought a Past recoil pad that works pretty well. For those of you that go to the matches, what is the most used recoil pad?

Thanks
Jack

Best pad I ever bought came from Buffalo Arms it's called the magnum prone model. It has atleast twice as much padding as a Magnum PAST plus the padding extends over the top of the shoulder for prone use. Makes my 10# 3 oz LRE IN 50-140 easier to use.. bobw

I much prefer the Shockeater t-shirts and pad, worn under a regular shit to any of those half bra things hanging on your shoulder.
The limbsaver slip on pads are good , and they come in a thick or thin recoil pad, the thin one doesn't add as much length of pull yet still keeps your collar bone unbruised.

I third what Don said. Bought one several matches ago and will never use anything else again.

Dean I can run my 18 lb 110 all day, and it even tames down the 10 lb 40-90 bn.
The ones that Cabela's ran before dollar general did the hostile take over thing I liked better, but the Shockeater works great IMHO.

When you go to Buffalo arms check out the RAND shoulder pads. They hold position all day long, the PAST that some of my shooter buddies wear, will not stay in position, some even using pins to hold them in place.

I wish Forsyth would get some decent shooting weather so I can find out if I can still see the targets let alone hit them. I'm hoping to shoot prone this season and am wondering how that affects felt recoil compared to sitting.

Mike when I shoot sitting I don't use any recoil pad.
The biggest difference you'll see is the difference in minutes elevation between prone and sitting and off hand. Usually need about 2 more for the last two

As Charlie said, had the PAST brand, never stayed in place, worse than a womans bra strap fallling down. Bought a Rand, large, stays in place. Worked so much better than the PAST I ordered two more for the girls.
