Forster Appelt case trimmer

Post by boondocker »

I'm trying to locate info about the various collets available for the Forster case trimmner, including which caliber cases the collet will hold for trimming. I've tried google but found only ebay stuff. Who still sells this brand and where can I buy the other collets? The collet in mine is the #1.

While your on the phone with them BD,be sure to ask for the pilot also if you don't have one. Make also an enquiry about the little stub shaft adapter that goes inplace of the crank handle so you can chuck it up to your cordless drill :) bobw

Yeah I bought a case trimmer and, a set of collets and pilots directly from Forster.
I also bought a coax press.
No more shell holders to change.
I had to modify the press so I could prime my 40-90 brass with it though.
I just machined 1/4" off the bottom of the priming block and the problem went away.
And I got the OK to do it from Forster.
They're a great outfit, and their gear is top tier stuff.

Conan,
How do you like the Co-Ax press? I am contemplating the purchase of one or the Redding turret. Folks have commented very favorably on the Redding but I have not heard any comment regarding the Co-Ax.

D Cash, I've used a Bonzana Co Ax press since the late '70's. I believe it to be the best single stage press available by design. Rounds loaded on the Co Ax exhibit minimal runout, especially if straight line seating dies are used.
