kirk: Forend bedding
Kirk: I didn't have my Shiloh 45/40 forend bedded and now wish I had. With hunting season in full swing don't want to lay my rifle up. Can I accomplish moisture proofing by taking off my forend and giving it several coats of true oil and accomplish basicly the same thing.

Kirk, Jay's question made me curious. When you guys do a bedding process on a rifle, what does that involve? At some point in the future I may be interested in a gun like the business rifle just to hunt with and seems like this may be a good option for a gun which will definetly be getting wet at times.
