To all:
During the Phoenix Regional Creedmoor match I knowingly allowed two shooters to change their rifles.
Both shooters believed that they were experiencing problems with either the rifle or ammo so I allow the switch.
I would have done this for any competitor, as I don't believe an advantage is gained by doing so.
BUT this is specifically not allowed by the rule book and one of the competitors was my shooting partner which makes it look like I was playing favorites.
This was not the case, but the implication is still there. To be fair to all of the competitors I have disallowed the score shot with his rifle on the 800 yard line of Saturday's match and changed the aggregate score to reflect this correction.
I have posted the corrected scores below.
I will also correct the trophies awarded so that those effected will receive the correct award.
I apologize to all the shooters for this error and I hope you haven't lost your confidence in me as a competent match director.
For the past ten plus years I have worked hard to gain your confidence and I don't want anyone to feel I've let them down.
I especially want EVERY competitor who comes to Phoenix to know that they are being treated fairly and that no one will gain an advantage because they are a local or a friend.

Let me get this straight................ You disallowed your partner, so you could move up to 3rd over all? Right??? Ah, I see and understand I guess.

All kidding aside, this is one of the reasons I shoot this game. The people that play this game and put on the matches are some of the best people I have ever met. Thanks Steve for all your hard work.

Re: REVISED PHOENIX REGIONAL CREEDMOOR SCORES
Thank you Steve for putting the story out here. It's a shame to have to void a score but those are the rules we play by. I have nothing but respect for the way our match directors handle these issues as they come up.
