I am planning a hunt for a large boar in TN this fall/winter. This load, will shoot well out to 300 yards repeatedly with no fouling control at all. Thanks to Rdnck for sharing the info to get me going in the right direction.

Best, Barvid

That load won't let you down. I killed 5 antelope in 2 days with it year before last. The longest shot was 300 yards. Good luck on your hunt!

Barvid,

I'd be very interested in hearing the details of your load if you care to share. I'm always looking for a reliable way to make a paper-patch hunting load work reliably, at least for 3-4 shots or so.

Thanks,
Regan

That looks like the end of a 'Biddness' rifle barrel to me.
Nice choice.

Well guys, the sighting in is almost done. The rifle is shooting 1" from the X at 100 yards, 7 o'clock low. I will fine tune it next time. I was shooting a 50 yard pistol bullseye target and my buddy's Craig and Van were spotting. Both were AMAZED at the darn rifle wallering out 1 hole at 7 in the 9-10 ring. I would blow down the barrel every 2-3 shots, that is all the fouling control needed for 20 shots. Rifle cleaned up with 2 wet 1 dry and oiled it down. I wish I had taken pic's of the target, but yall will have to take my word for now. Nest time I will fine tune the 100 and set up the ladder for 200 yards.

Best, Barvid

That's the same sight shape I'm using but mine is brass instead of copper. My wife calls it the "cartoon" sight because it looks like the kind you might see on a cartoon rifle. I've experimented with different shapes in different light and light directional conditions and overall I like it best. I've also seen photos of the shape on originals too.

Well the time is close. I am taking a vacation for the first time since........??????????

After the SE Reg match, I am driving up to the Cumberland Mtn's in TN to hunt a large Russian boar. I am gonna take my time and be very selective. I told wifey, "I will be home when I get done"

Anyway, all is ready to go hunting, me included.

Best, DB
