Long bullets in .54-caliber

In anticipation of my 1863 Sporting Rifle shipping within the next few months, I picked up about 50 Pedersoli .54-caliber bullets. They are very long [nominal] 525-grain pointed flat point bullets that I had cast 30:1. Has anyone experience shooting these bullets, preferably from 30-inch barrels rather than cavalry carbines, that they can share?

That such a long bullet is available from a mass manufacturer of reproduction 1863s whose barrels have the same 1:48-inch rate of twist of my Shiloh 1863 strongly indicates the bullet is stable even with reduced "cavalry" charges. But I have no first-hand knowledge of 1863s or of bullet selections.
