Shiloh Sharps prices in 1980

Post by submarine vet »

I just ran across a folder containing papers from my first purchase of a Sharps, including my shipping invoice dated November 1980.

I purchased an 1874 long range express in 50-140 with a 34" barrel, dst, and stocked in "select" walnut with accent line on cheek piece.

I also have the 1980 catalog and a Gun Week magazine article by Elmer Keith on the Sharps rifle.

I found an ad from Shotgun news with loading supplies. For example, B.E.L.L. 45 basic brass was $13.20 per box/20 and $19.95 for .50 basic. RCBS moulds were $16.10 and Lyman were $15.00.

The cost? I got it for $578!!
