Halloween Shoot
I think we were tricked with all the wind we had to deal with, but considering the weather we had the last week, even being able to shoot was quite a treat.

After looking at the scores, the only fair thing to do is divide it up into two categories, those shooting prone and those sitting.
I have no idea how they could keep a gun steady in that wind.

Pat Menahan and I were the only ones shooting prone and started off pretty even by each hitting 9 out of 10 shots at 800 yds.
I edged Pat by one on the 900 diamond, hitting 5 to his 4. Pat hit 3 on the 1000 in the first relay, so I had to get 3 to beat him.
I haven't been shooting very well lately on the 1000 and sure enough, missed my first 5 shots before finally connecting and getting 3 out of the last 5 to edge him by one 17 to 16. Being in the middle of the line where I could hear the spotters better probably helped my quite a bit as he was shooting on the far downwind end of his line.

Gary Campbell was MR Consistency of the sitting shooters, getting 5 hits on his first two targets and missing his last shot on the 1000 by inches to wind up with 14 hits followed by Mike Caprata second and Elwyn Brunner third, Each with 11 hits.

John Miller must come from the only place in Wyoming that doesn't blow ( so he claims) as he didn't bring a sight with enough adjustment to keep up with today's wind so He had to borrow Eds rifle to shoot his shells in.

Not sure the weather will let us get a December shoot in, but sure hope so.

Thanks Paul and Dave. And thanks for the excellent spotting Dave .

The split in the groups is just the two different relays.

Good work Brian. It looks like you got that 2.6 shooting the PP very good. You will be tough to beat in the coming winter postals.

Thanks Kurt. That was the 45 2 7/8 I've been shooting all year. Load i discovered at last years postal.

Kinda figured everyone was hoarding their primers and wouldn't want to do a postal.
Guess i could post a feeler if no one else wants to volunteer to do it.
