Gday,
A good mate of mine has a famingdale sharps in 45-70. Basically he's getting to fragile to take the recoil. Im wondering if a rebarrel to a 40-65 or 38-55 would be a viable option. Would you require the action to supply a new barrel or can you supply a barrel that requires final fitting without having the action?

It's the easiest for us to have the action and just do the barrel job. We find the top while the barrel is round, it's, octagoned, chambered and all cuts made and done. Otherwise, I can send just an octagon rifled tube, then you machine it to get the top flat where it's suppose to be and barrel to block distance, chamber, and make all cuts yourself, it's kind of a pain in the ars for you, but I'm game for what ever he would like to do.
