What Are We Seeing?

Gentlemen,
I have never seen this before after cleaning the barrel. What I initially thought was lead has shown no response to tight-patching with turpentine, or anything else. Then I thought possibly fouling from HDPE wads. Couldn't remove it with acetone, Kroil, or again, anything else.
This is the first cleaning after changing from a harder to softer alloy of 20:1. I would see a decent amount of fouling with the harder alloy, which would wipe right out, but never this.
The discoloration is only on top of the lands for the most part.
