Here is an example of different alloys most use. All the bullets are from the same mould. The lead is Rot Metals as well as the tin in all the bullets except #7 and #9 from the left. #7 and #9 is the alloy I use with 8/10 oz antimony in the mix. 15.2 OZ of tin. Just this slight percentage makes a world of difference how the nose gets setback. With the smaller diameter bullets I use a 1/17 and the .45 calibers I use 18 lbs lead with 1 one roll of 95/5 no lead solder 95% TIN/5% antimony. It was surprising to me that the lighter .40 caliber bullets were effected more than the .45 calibers.

A 50/50 mic of WW and lead is about as good as it gets shooting GG bullets and groove diameter PP if you want to save a little money on tin.

That is a nice picture but you need to post the loads fired with them as well.
That will show the relationship of pressure vs alloy strength. If it was the same load what you are showing is the correct alloy for the pressure of that one particular load. Is this not correct.

When you get to be 82 the memory gets a little cloudy.
They were all shot on the same day with the same rifle and load with either the .45-90 or the .45-70. Most likely the 90 in the same snow bank.

Yesterday I had some spare time and played with lead, mixing pure into Lyman#2. Then casting. Got nicer fill and oh so shiny bullets as opposed to frosted ones. Tomorrow I'll have time to mic and weight them.

I been using a roll of no lead solder and 17# or sometimes 18# lead now for a long time in my .45-90, .44-77 and the .44-90 BN and I finished in 9th my best at the Q been beat out of the top 10 by tiebreakers or close. The alloy works for my use or I would not use it.
