Luke isn’t it a great feeling and the anticipation when you first open the case they ship it in. My FFL friend was so impressed that he is thinking of ordering one him self. He never had a Shiloh come through his business before. Now I’m in the hunt for a nice sling that will complement the Carbine. Kirk had put a sling stud on the barrel band and inletted a nice one on the bottom of the butt stock the pictures doesn’t show them.

Patchbox: yes it is it really sets the Carbine off with the semi fancy walnut.The whole Carbine is a masterpiece.

Might have to upgrade the wood on mine, it sure sets them apart from the standard wood.

Randy if you have the extra coin to up grade do it. Shiloh’s wood selection is well worth it between my #3 I had done in 2018 and this one I had C. Sharpes build me a 1885 in 45-90 30” barrel with standard wood I was told it’s straight grain black walnut well I believe it’s Alder stained black walnut. So I’m in the Shiloh camp for hear on out thinking of having another one built in 40-65 not sure of the model yet but it will have the up graded wood.

My first Shiloh was a Bill Goodman gun I selected semi fancy wood and received fancy Bill said it was that it was the nicest “semi fancy” wood he’s ever seen. I was told sometimes they just can’t tell until they begin to carve your stock, I feel very lucky for the rifle . My 1877 I did a Cecil Fredi English Walnut medium grade it’s spectacular as well. I agree Shiloh has beautiful walnut.

Mine will be very similar except 40-50 SBN chamber, the trigger on my 1877 could be a bit lighter as it tends to pull me off target going to request a four pound trigger when it comes to final specs.

Shilohs standard wood even looks. That packed harden has nice color. Luke what are you going to use yours for hunting or plinking?

I shoot with an organization that does 2 gun combat matchs with Victorian era weapons. This will be paired with a Colt SAA in our Single Shot BP class. Great fun!
