I have an opportunity to buy a RCBS Chargemaster from a friend who ended up with two.

Is the Chargemaster OK for BP use?

Yes. I've been using a PACT dispenser and digital scale that dropped the powder directly into the drop tube on & off for several decades without any issue. It will be getting retired as I am going to the MVA scale. Why not use the RCBS; with my current string of luck, 6 months after the warranty expires, the RCBS will crap out on me......so for now, I will do it the "old fashioned way," by hand.

Get the Chargemaster and go for it. Kenny posted some photos a little while ago showing BP being arc'ed with electricity and not igniting... I had been worried about static, but now am only worried that static might affect the electronics of the scale itself. I bought an anti-static mat off amazon to help isolate my RCBS.

I used to drop and trickle all my rifle loads for years (smokeless) on an Ohaus 10-10 scale that had been calibrated. For my money, the RCBS unit I now have (Matchmaster) is as accurate as I ever achieved doing it manually, and the Chargemaster I had previously was also the equal of anything I ever did the old-fashioned way. I put those little clamp on ferrite filters on the power cord to eliminate radio noise and now with the anti-static mat I figure I'm set.

There are powder dispensers that are super accurate. They also cost the Earth. The guy shown on this website appears to have damn near as many trophies as Kenny does! The unit is accurate down to an individual grain of powder. Interestingly, it uses a drop and trickle method...It would be nice to afford one of these things one day....

I was looking at the one from buffalo arms that jackrabbit mentioned!! It's a little under. $380.00
Think I'll stick with my old rcbs scale and Lee dipper.

It is a Brand Name.

Weighs the powder, finishes up with a trickle, right on the money. Drop tubes it into the case, brand name, $2800 cheaper. What else could you want? Mail me a check.

For that money I want one that can resolve down to .0001 grain, which the Promethius can. The Matchmaster I already own is the next best thing. Guess that’s where I’ll stay for the foreseeable future.
