Super-high density foam question

Does anyone have a link, or suggestion, to where I might find a proven super-high density foam supplier who sells 1/8” - 1/2” thick sheets of such? I’m gonna replace/maybe add some more padding to my Shooting Buddy shoulder recoil pad that’s beginning to go ‘flat’ on me. The fellas at BACO have told me to try this to bring back the life in mine.

You might take a look at felt from McMaster-Carr. That would make a good pad.
I have never looked for foam, but they may have some of that also.

Keep on hav'n fun!

Felt may be the ticket; who knows.
All I know is the staff at BACO suggested the hd foam.

We have Clark Rubber and a few other distributors down here that sell various types and thicknesses of both high and low density foam but not sure who your best outlets would be. Small camping/ roll mats are a good source , though I've seldom seen them under about 1/2" in thickness in that manifestation. I was lucky enough to save some offcuts after a puppy decided they were the perfect medium for teething.

LimbSaver https://limbsaver.com/ sold their energy absorbing elastomer in pieces as large as as 8"x12" some years ago. Perhaps they still do.

Shoes, specifically flip flops. I've used pieces of the soles for fly tying. It's very dense and also cheap! Slice off what you need.

Thanks everyone,
From flip-flops to Limbsavers I’ll get it done!
Thanks again,

Well here's another: back pack sleeping pads. They are about 1/2 thick dense foam. I used a piece of one to double up my PASF recoil pad. Really helped. But I got smart and dumped the rifle that was beating so hard. Quite a while back I also bought a square foot of 1 inch thick "Sorbathane" and made a few recoil pads that I could slip onto some of my rifles. That worked great, but adds weight to the rifle and could put you over the limit if you are already close.

Thanks, George. My wife pulled from the garage an old ‘yoga’ mat, whatever that is. It’s about 3/8” thick. She’s gonna somehow sew (enclose) it onto the back of the existing BACO ‘Shooting Buddy’. It’s not real dense, or too soft either. Should work well, I’m hoping. Thanks to all for your input, really.

It will work Robert, been using that for a while now. My wife sewed a pocket in a couple shirts and I just slip in one or two layers.

Take a look at kneeling pads, like you use for garden work etc.

Got ‘er done, thanks to my sweetheart. There’s a pocket on the inside of the shirt holding the 1/2” yoga mat for shooting my 16# 45-110’s. I leave the pad in place as well for shooting my 12-pound 45-90, plus adding the belted ‘shooting buddy’ recoil pad. The 45-90 kicks like a mule with 94 grains of Swiss 1.5 Fg under the patched MB, but boy is it accurate like the 110’s.

Thanks to everyone for helping me!
