Castaway,
What has been posted pretty much covers it. A cart of some kind and a chair pretty much is a necessity.
Water is on the range if you need to refill the canteen :D
If you don't want to camp on the range you better call the Motels for reservations now. Some make them before checking out for the next year.
There are many vendors that might have what you forgot to bring.
Yes the wait between relays are long and that could be reduced by adding more points on the line.
For me shooting the Q is like a reunion shooting with friends and sitting at the camp site spending time in good company from friends and people you meat from many different states and countries.
Some circle their wagons :D it's a good friendly and tough competition match your shooting with.
It's a shoot you can bring your Family and get the young ones started.
And if your time allows, there is the Big Hill shoot at Baker Montana a week before and after also a well run match that is not as large as the Q but it's growing. It's one of the most beautiful ranges I spend time on.
But attending both matches bring 2000 rounds  300-400 rounds might get you through maybe three days shooting :D I ran out with 1800 rounds between the two shoots :D

Two more questions. How are the mosquitoes at night and is there usually an ice vendor on site?

Thanks to our friend 'semtav' the mosquitos are kept under control by aerial spraying. There is a large AG tank of water available for the taking but I don't remember anyone selling ice. Folks are always heading to town after the shooting is done for supper or groceries and so on so if you're the kind to make friends it wouldn't be hard to get some brought back for you. Having said that it is usual for many of the campers to head into town once or twice during the week for supper, laundry, groceries. The one bar has run the Quigley movie on Friday night for a lot of years. The caterer on site is excellent and a member of the family. While the 'Q' is only a two day shoot it is an all week good time. Shooting goes dawn to dusk for the whole week and many go through 'hundreds' of rounds just having fun although they would call it practice.

Two forty ounce Puperoni bags of should get you in good graces with the four legged critters.
Or
A quart of Makers, case of 7 UP, 25 pounds of party ice and 3 dozen 16 ounce cups should draw some flies.

This is beginning to sound like my 'vacation' in Danang in '68.
In spite of it, I wish I could see it too.

Take into consideration that DD has never been there and is basing his remarks on negative 'here say'.

Only been to 3 Quigley's planning on number 4 this year, a great week of shooting, with friends. A cart is essential to get all of our needs from one point to the next on that half mile of firing line. Think in the neighborhood of 200 rounds at least, more would be better.

Lot's of mostly very well mannered people, and pets.

Looking forward to another fun time this year.

Right Deadeye.....I don't bungie jump or parasail from mountaintops either. There are already more than enough matches that I have to pick and choose between, don't need another one.

Looks like Aviator and I are making the trip this year. He is a vet of the Q, this will be my first. Been torn between shooting the trapdoor or the 77. Hmmm. Will be shooting both this month in Friendship or Kentucky.

It will be good to see you again Woody. I see Steve placed well last year and from the smile on his face it looked like he was having a good time. I barely met him at Smithmoor back in '18, would like to spend some time with you two. If you are making the trip will you have time to take in one or both of the Big Hill shoots while in the area. One is the week before the other the week after. Brian has posted the flyers here and they are multi-gun matches. More bang for your gas buck.

There may be something about whiffing black powder smoke that causes Aviator to seem a bit giddy.

I do worry about him being subjected to less than pure influences at certain venues. He is such a nice young pup you know?

My old camper I had a loading bench and I would reload a couple times before the match. When I got the new camper it is not a toy hauler so nothing setup for reloading. The first trip to Baker and the Q I took 1800 loaded rounds and I ran out to shoot the second Baker shoot. I had what I thought 100 rounds set aside for the match but the box somehow was used and I could not shoot the match.
The next year Savannah Hickey confiscated 200 rounds before leaving for the Q so I would have round for the second Baker shoot
Now I take 2000 rounds.
