How to set the set trigger? When

Post by Bill Falk »

Howdy Kirk, Please visit this Q one more time. Here's the scenario: the Shiloh is loaded, action closed on half(safe) cock position. Now, should the set trigger be pulled prior to fully cocking the hammer or pulled after the hammer is fully cocked? or does it make any difference? Second stage of Q is what is the correct way to dry fire a double set trigger Shiloh,if in fact there is one? Thanks and I will print your reply and file with my Shiloh instruction manual. Bill

Hi Bill, it really doesn't matter when you set it, I feel myself it is more safe to set it after cocking the hammer, especially if you have them set so light that the wind will set them off. Always dry fire them with the hammer in the full fire position. Hope this helps, Kirk
