Hello all,
I have a C Sharps coming this fall. I have a 30" 1 1/2 barrel being put on. I was very interested in having a "traditional" rifle so went with a 1 in 34" right-hand twist. The barrel is going to be made of 4140 Annealed. .500 Bore | .510 Grooves in traditional 6 grove configuraion.
I understand that:
.50/100/473 = Paper Patch Bullet
.50/100/425 = Grease Groove
Now, I am looking for some ready-made bullets to start with, and then need to get some bullet molds.
I was looking for recommendations and thoughts. I understand I am looking for .512 bullet and .512 sizing/lube dies.
Regards,
Jacob

I also notice the Lyman 515141 is a .515 Diameter mold. Would I size that down to .512 or is there someone making a .515 lube sizer die?

That's the mold # and a long time a go the .515" dia. Now days I believe that they cut the to throw a .512" bullet...you could allways call Lyman and ask. Bobw

Re: 50 2.5" and bullet questions
I have the recent Lyman mould and it won't chamber without being sized down to .511". I switched over to the RCBS 50-515 for my 36 twist and it is very accurate and chambers great. Hope this helps.
