Die lock

Don't know if this is of interest, but I found what seems to be a better way to lock the die ring screw. I've used nothing and buggered threads, lead shot under the screw.

Yesterday I needed a lock and didn't have any bigger shot handy. I did have a nice fat little "O" ring. Razor knife and had a little chunk that just fit in the hole.

It holds tight, loosens easily and seems much easier to work with than shot.

I have used a piece of the orange nylon from my weed wacker string trimmer, the diameter fit the screw hole.

I have a few of those too. The old dies I have use set screws.

Hornady also makes a die lock similar to the photo posted above and you can order separately. I replaced all the set screw type lock rings with the Hornady die lock rings. Don’t even bother with the set screw type rings - total PITA.
