BACO bore wipers

OK, dumb question. Just used them for the first time at a match with M-Pro 7 and they sure simplified things for this PP shooter. Washed the felts with Woolite and they look good. But what about the brass adapters? Any special technique to preserve them?

Just clean up the brass mandrels with warm soapy water rinse and dry them out. Otherwise the brass will develop verdigris, the green corrosion crap that affects brass. The brass mandrel will still darken and have mild tarnishing. If you store for long period of time then put some kind of lube on them to prevent corrosion- Ballistol works fairly well for me. I don’t unscrew them from the body, just clean as an assembled unit.

I run them for about 1/2 hour in my tumber with soap, water, and ceramic media. Rinse, dry, and put clean felts on. Ready for the next match. I put the Mpro7 on the day that I plan on using them. Don't leave any unused Mpro7 soaked felts in contact with the brass, as it will slowly dissolve the brass pins. The ceramic media will not damage the delrin or the O-rings.

I soak them in oxyclean for a few hrs then rinse. I dry them in my case drier.

Question on the BACO felts - since the felts are wool, (I don’t believe it’s a synthetic wool, but could be wrong) has anyone tried a solution of say 1-10 or 1-20 of lanolin oil and alcohol to restore the natural lanolin in the wool fibers? I’ve noticed that the felts, especially the lead felt shrinks quite a bit when they dry out after cleaning and are very stiff compared to a new felt disc.
