Range Box / Cleaning Stand

While waiting for my Montana Roughrider I thought I might build a range box to hold the rifle while cleaning and to hold cleaning supplies.

Does anyone have suggestions or plans?

I could wing it but I don't know the optimum distance between the uprights.

Thanks

I built mine to set flat on the back seat floorboard and 8 inches high and 6 inches wide. I only wanted to have the minimum in it. So it is not a big range box but a cleaning box. I put a box inside that holds patches and there is room beside that to hold the two flat uprights that fit on the ends. One side fits the action one side fits the barrel. I use it on rifles from 26 to 34 with no troubles

If you want pretty, then this is not the way to go: I use a MTM gun cleaning stand. It is cheap & water-proof after you drill some holes in the bottom of the low spots. I added 1/4" nylon rope for handles so I can carry it with or without my rifle in the stand. And there is a area where I can carry my small bottles of oil, solvent, extra wiping patch liquid, etc.

Keep on hav'n fun!
