Somewhere in my feeble mind I seem to recall pair firing at BPTR targets.

Was it ever done this way? With 2 shooters shooting at the same target during a match?

It does on occasion. It takes good coordination between the two shooters, and it will keep the target pullers busy.

Since everyone around here is used to shooting gongs, it probably wouldn't be much of a problem, .

How does it work when one person is ready to go for score and the other wants to shoot a few more sighters?

Seem to recall tri-firing by muzzle loaders where 3 shoot in sequence at the same target.
Would be easy to do with cartridge rifles, only problem is the shooters would have to be able to count to three, every rotation.

Record the sighters as sighters, the score shots as score shots. :D

That's the normal way of shooting in Bisley, UK - 3 shooters a target, shooting in sequence. Waiting out a condition is considered bad form...

The problem isn't the ability to count to three, it's the ability to remember what the last number was .

Actually quite simple - it's always the same shooter before it's your turn - but you also have to keep score for the shooter shooting after you. And check the score you write down with him.

At Atterbury I will sometimes have to share a target with 2 other front stuffers. When they are shoot I wait. In between then loading I send as many rounds as fast as I while trying to read and adjust for conditions. It has been a great exercise in stress management

Are you suggesting that you experience stress when shooting? No WAY!
