Engraving and finish

Kirk, can a rifle be engraved after the fact, meaning after is has been delivered?

If it can, I'm thinking in a couple of years of sending my gun back for a few enhancements, like a bit of refreshing on the metal finish, engraving and perhaps a Lucinda hammer which I really like.

I asked Kirk the same question some time ago and this was his answer:

"Hi Mike, you can do this, but it is going to be costly due to the fact, everyting has to be annealed, then re-polished, then re- heat treated. Thanks Kirk"
from Shiloh:
1874 "Military Carbine" (7 1/2 lb, 22" bbl) in .45-70
1874 "Sporter #1" (25 lb, 34" bbl) in .45-70, rechambered to .45-110
