An American Made Product - Story by Lucinda Klostermeier - Shiloh Rifle Mfg. Co.

Abraham Lincoln stated, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

Education to the next generation is our key to survival in this country. Teaching our children that the American flag is the symbol of our nation. Woodrow Wilson said: “The things that the flag stands for were created by the experiences of a great people. Everything that it stands for was written by their lives. The flag is the embodiment, not of sentiment, but of history.”

Our nations flag still represents the lives that were lost to protect our freedoms that we so enjoy. The love and loyalty to this country and our flag is a sacrifice made by the men and women who have died while serving, have served or are now serving our armed forces, so that you and your families can enjoy the freedoms that we so enjoy. America is becoming more and more dependent on foreign made products and the outsourcing of manufacturing for products formerly produced here. It is unfortunate that this generation of children and future generations are not being taught how important it is to keep the manufacturing and production of American made products going strong. They are being taught and shown that it is acceptable to outsource work to other countries for a lesser price and that importation is good. Our children do not understand that people are losing their jobs everyday and factories are closing due to receiving items cheaper from other countries; that our steel factories and manufacturing plants are slowly diminishing. A country that was the strongest in the world, self-sufficient with its ranching, farmers, and industry is progressively becoming a country more and more dependent on others for our food, clothing, and manufacturing. The question you must ask yourself is, “where will it end and when will we take back our self-sufficiency and quit teaching our children to be dependent on the government and other countries for survival?”

“. . . Shiloh will never sacrifice our quality, craftsmanship
and self-reliance to produce rifles at a cheaper price.”

Shiloh Rifle prides itself in the fact that we are 100% American made from producing our own barrels to casting all the parts. One evidence of that dedication is a machine here that touches the heart of every American. Our vertical barrel drilling machine started it’s service in America in 1939 producing military barrels during World War II. Now, 67 years later, with a lot of love and tender care, this machine is still producing the most beautiful and superior barrels.

We are proud of the fact that we are the only company in the world whose parts interchange with the original sharps rifle. Moreover, we manufacture everything right here in Big Timber—from the steel castings in our own foundry, to our barrels, stocks and action—every part right on down to the screws that are used to assemble the finished product.

We here at Shiloh will never sacrifice our quality, craftsmanship and self reliance to produce rifles at a cheaper price. That’s why when you purchase a Shiloh, you not only purchase a legendary rifle, you support the principals of a way of life Americans have fought and died for for hundreds of years—self-reliance, pride, perseverance and, of course—freedom.
