Recommended Bullet Mould, .45-110

Post by Jim Stewart »

Kirk,

To choose just one, what do you consider the best bullet mould for your .45-110 chambered rifles?

What do you find to be critical dimensions of the ready-to-load bullets, please?

Cordially,

Jim Stewart

Hi Jim, I reccomend the 545 grain Brooks or Jones creedmore. I use a Jones for guys who pick thier rifle up here and want to shoot. Either way have it made .448-.449 on the nose and .458 on the base. Do not let anyone talk you into a .460 bullet because with the brass we are using you will never load it. Hope this helps, Kirk

Kirk, further to my earlier question, what alloy do you prefer for these bullets?

I use 25-1, If I didn't have kids helping load I would use 30-1 but it is pretty easy to dent 30-1 bullets while reaching for a pop!!! All of the boys that are putting on a show are using 30-1. Thanks Kirk
